ASSE Founded in 1911, ASSE is the oldest and largest professional safety organization. ASSE is guided by a 16-member Board of Directors, which consists of 8 regional vice presidents; three council vice presidents; Society president, president-elect, senior vice president, vice president of finance and executive director. ASSE has 13 practice specialties, 150 chapters, 56 sections and 64 student sections.

SHRM The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) is the world's largest association devoted to human resource management. Representing more than 200,000 individual members, the Society's mission is to serve the needs of HR professionals by providing the most essential and comprehensive resources available. As an influential voice, the Society's mission is also to advance the human resource profession to ensure that HR is recognized as an essential partner in developing and executing organizational strategy. Founded in 1948, SHRM currently has more than 550 affiliated chapters and members in more than 100 countries.


AIHA The American Industrial Hygiene Association is one of the largest international associations serving the needs of occupational and environmental health professionals practicing industrial hygiene in industry, government, labor, academic institutions, and independent organizations. We:
  • are devoted to achieving and maintaining the highest professional standards for our members;
  • work in conjunction with the American Board of Industrial Hygiene to promote certification of industrial hygienists;
  • administer comprehensive education programs that keep occupational and environmental health and safety professionals current in the field of industrial hygiene;
  • operate several highly-recognized laboratory accreditation programs, based on the highest international standards. These programs help ensure the quality of the data used in making critical worker protection decisions.
Founded in 1939, AIHA is a nonprofit organization with more than 75 local sections. AIHA's 11,800 members are highly educated professionals; 96 percent are college graduates, 51 percent hold master's degrees, and 12 percent possess doctoral degrees.



AWMA The Air & Waste Management Association (A&WMA) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan professional organization that provides training, information, and networking opportunities to thousands of environmental professionals in 65 countries.


ASME Founded in 1880 as the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, today's ASME is a 120,000-member professional organization focused on technical, educational and research issues of the engineering and technology community. ASME conducts one of the world's largest technical publishing operations, holds numerous technical conferences worldwide, and offers hundreds of professional development courses each year. ASME sets internationally recognized industrial and manufacturing codes and standards that enhance public safety.


IEEE The IEEE, a non-profit organization, is the world's leading professional association for the advancement of technology.

The full name of the IEEE is the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc., although the organization is referred to by the letters I-E-E-E and pronounced Eye-triple-E.
